We write about rules that change. This page says how we handle that, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Every claim carries its source
Guides cite the primary source rather than another article about it. Where a regulator, a platform or a piece of legislation says something, we link to the page that says it, so you can check us rather than trust us. Where we are reading between the lines rather than quoting, we label it as our reading.
Every guide carries the date we last checked it
Platform policies move, sometimes several times a year. A guide without a date is a guide you cannot rely on, so each one shows when we last read its sources. If you are reading one long after that date, check the source before acting on it.
What we do not publish
If we cannot verify a figure against a primary source, it does not go in. That sometimes means a guide says we could not confirm something rather than giving you a number, and we would rather do that than repeat a figure that is circulating without a source behind it.
When we get it wrong
We correct the page and change its last-checked date. Where the error changed the advice rather than just the wording, we say what changed on the page itself rather than editing quietly.

Email hello@ranknearme.io with the page and what is wrong. A link to the source that contradicts us is the fastest way to get it fixed. We would rather hear it from you than leave it standing.
